If you are a newly established group at UPSU, or simply just new to a group's committee, then there are plentiful training resources for you to use to gain expert knowledge of how to run your student group to maximum efficiency.

Committee Member Training

While the Student Groups Team works hard to provide two large scale training events for committee members every academic year (Committee Training and Handover Conference), there are also online training resources with quizzes to help you gain the knowledge you need to run a successful student group. The platform used by UPSU to provide our online training is called BeMore which you must sign up to using your student email address to do so (not your student group one). 

The committee member training resources are as follows:

• Membership Queries
• Meeting with the Groups Team
• Equipment, Kit, and Facilities
• AGMs, EGMs, and Handover
• Transport
• Finance

These training resources all come with a quiz that you must get 75% in to pass. Once you have passed you will receive a certificate via email as proof. You can also browse all committee member training resources here.

These are compulsory for some committee positions and optional for others so it is always best to check whether or not you are completing training that is most relevant to you! It is always best to make sure that you complete the relevant training required as if there is ever an issue within the group, you have proof that you had taken and passed all of your relevant training. 

Please be aware that there is also some training that is compulsory for all student group committee members and it is good practice to make sure everyone does. If you fail to complete these training resources as a committee member you will have limited access to certain particular systems and processes you may find that your group needs. Newly Ratified Groups Basic Training

Starting up a new group or adopting an old one can feel a bit daunting. Once you've worked out what you are doing however and checked out all the resources available to you, your group's progress will begin to soar. In addition to the above list of online training resources with quizzes, there is an additional training page to help you along the way. This is called the following:
